Learn how to specify the CS Loft Series, New Zealand's versatile aluminium glazed door system for new builds and renovations. Cavity slider, pivot, hinged and fixed panel options are all explained.
The CS Loft Series is gaining serious traction on residential and commercial projects across New Zealand — and it's easy to see why. It delivers the classic steel-framed look that architects and builders love, without the weight, cost or complexity of working with steel.
For builders, that translates to a system that's faster to install, easier to specify, and flexible enough to work across every doorway in a build. For architects, the CS Loft Series delivers design flexibility with a cohesive aesthetic across multiple different door applications, making it easy to maintain a consistent architectural look and even align with exterior window and door choices.
If you're new to specifying the Loft Series, here's what you need to know.
The CS Loft Series is constructed from premium extruded aluminium, delivering structural integrity and long-term reliability. The aluminium construction means it's lighter than a steel-framed equivalent, without compromising the look or the strength.
For builders, that has a few practical advantages:

The CS Loft Series isn't a single door — it's a system. You can specify it as a:
The ability to mix and match these types across a single project is one of the Loft Series' biggest strengths. You can run a cavity slider off a kitchen, a hinged door into a study, and fixed panels on either side of both — and it all reads as one cohesive system.

Once you've selected the door type, you choose the configuration: single, bi-parting, overtaking or corner meeting. Fixed panels can be added to the left, right, or both sides of any door type to extend the glazed line across the full opening.

For hinged and pivot doors, confirm left or right-hand hung. For overtaking doors, confirm LH or RH overtaking direction. This determines how the door hardware and lock block positions are set up.

This is where the CS Loft Series differs from other door systems.
Critical dimensions must be supplied as finished measurements — finished wall to wall (A), and finished floor to ceiling or bulkhead (B).
If panels are unequal widths, those also need to be specified separately (C and D) see site measure forms.

The system is designed around the finished opening, so rough opening or framing dimensions won't work here.
Get your GIB stopping done, confirm finished floor level, and then take your measurements.

Larger sizes may be available on request — talk to the CS team if your project needs something outside these ranges.
The Loft Series uses horizontal and vertical dividers (mid rails and mullions) within the frame to create the signature grid look.
You can choose from 1H-1V through to 5H-5V configurations, and mid rails can be spaced unevenly if the design calls for it. This is where you can dial in the exact industrial aesthetic the architect is after.

Glass options are clear, frosted (opaque), or reeded — all in 6mm or 10mm safety glass as standard. Reeded glass in particular is a popular choice right now for bathrooms, ensuites, and anywhere a degree of privacy is needed without sacrificing the light.
For hardware, there's a wide range of handle options including flush pull, D-pull, and lever handle styles across floating lock block and mid-mount lock block configurations. Or, if the project has a specific hardware spec, you can supply your own handle and CS will accommodate it.

The Loft Series is a strong fit for both new builds and renovation projects. On a new build, it gives you a premium glazed door system that fits with modern styles or more classical farmhouse and stone builds.
On a renovation or heritage restoration, the industrial aluminium aesthetic pairs well with both period character and contemporary interiors, and the prefabricated nature of the system makes it easier to manage on a live site with existing constraints.

CS Cavity Sliders provides full specification support — download the Spec Guide and Site Measure forms from the product page, or get in touch directly with the CS team if your project has non-standard requirements. CAD, DWG, and Revit files are also available for the full Loft Series range.
If you're specifying the Loft Series for the first time, get CS involved early in the design process. The configuration options are broad, and getting the right setup will make production and installation easier and ensure your chosen configurations work for your project.
