The Hotel Britomart in Auckland is a locally designed, built and owned sustainable hotel that opened to the public in October 2020. Designed by Cheshire Architects, it is New Zealand’s greenest hotel, with a 5 Green Star rating. CS Cavity Sliders supplied cavity sliders for the 99 guest rooms and 5 luxurious suites in the ten-storey hotel.

For levels 1-9, CS SquareStop cavity sliders are used as a space divider between the bedroom and bathroom area. The use of Full-Height Detail makes the 2.5m high x 1.3m wide door look like a moving wall. In a creative use of space, the door slides between two benches, enabling a continuation of the living area into the bathroom area when not in use.

The CS AluTec door panels are made from aluminium, making them strong enough not to bow or warp – a common problem with large wooden doors. They were supplied pre-finished in a custom Robin Egg Blue colour and fitted with bespoke handles.

The penthouse suites feature the CS Ultimate cavity slider with custom 64mm thick door leaves. The Ultimate is suitable for use with doors thicker than 40mm and up to 240kg. It can be specified whenever a heavier or thicker door is required and suits 140mm wall framing.

All the cavity sliders for Hotel Britomart include CS SofStop - a smooth soft close operation available for sliding doors up to 100kg.
